Foreign Trade Zone
The Caldwell Economic Development Council has submitted an application for approval to the National Foreign Trade Zone (FTZ) Board. An FTZ is a specially designated area, located in or adjacent to a U.S. Customs Port Of Entry, and is considered to be outside the Customs Territory of the U.S. There are several benefits that American businesses can take advantage of when using an FTZ, some of which are included here. If the application is approved, Caldwell Economic Development Council will have a great marketing tool to attract businesses to both Canyon and Ada Counties.
Festa!
In corroboration with the Sunnyslope Wineries, Caldwell Economic Development Council supported the second annual Festa! celebration. The weekend started Friday, September 9th with multiple winemakers’ dinners throughout the region. The dinners paired local restaurants with carefully chosen wines from each participating winery. Saturday began the bulk of the Festa! event - a full day of free wine tastings with the purchase of a commemorative Festa! wine glass. The weekend events culminated on Sunday, September 11th, at Ste. Chapelle featuring more wine tastings, special sales, giveaways, catered lunch, and fantastic live musicians. Idaho wineries look forward to the continuation of this celebration of the bounty for years to come!
