Scenic Byway

  The Snake River Canyon Scenic Byway Corporation recently submitted an application for federal designation of the proposed Snake River Canyon Scenic Byway. The route highlights some of Canyon County’s most beautiful scenery and historical sites. Attractions along the route include: Lizard & Elephant Butte, Map Rock, Snake River, Caldwell Train Depot, Treasure Valley Wine Country, Lake Lowell, Deerflat National Wildlife Refuge, Fort Boise Wildlife Management Area, and Celebration Park.

If the designation is granted, signs and informational materials will be posted throughout southern Idaho, marking the route and the main attractions.  Idaho currently has over 25 federally recognized Scenic Byways, each highlighting a special part of Idaho.
